[contributed]Worsening relation with China and S.Korea

Japan has apologized over and over again and made many reparations to the victim countries after the war. The problem is that some govts of these countries have not only not informed the public about these facts but have also provided their people with terrible anti-Japan educations for a long time. Therefore, no matter how much Japan shows its sincerity, it couldn't establish better relations with them. Actually, it was only in 2005 that the South Korean people knew about Japan- Republic of Korea Basic Relations Treaty of 1965, 40 years after of the conclusion of the treaty!, in which the two countries came to important arrangements about postwar reparations, and Japan promised to offer huge money to S.K, roughly 1.5 times the national budget of S.K at that time. Later, S.K govt had received it without telling its people.

If Japan seems to have take a tougher line to these countries recently it might be because the Japanese govt is gradually begining to doubt whether these countries really are worthy of its confidence?, they really can follow the international rules? For example, nonsensically, the number of Nanjing Massacre's victims that China releases are increasing substantially every year. It is said that in Southe.Korea parents have taught their children "You do anything wrong for beating Japanese" or if Japan remarks against their will a bit, their govt incite a riot against Japan and sometimes makes its people destroy Japanese company buildings in the country and doesn't try to make any compensation for their enormous loss. I wonder why such violence could be allowed in the international community these days? I dare say, instead the international community finds endless fault with Japan's wron-doing 70 years ago, it should criticize China's violence directed against Japan,Tibet, Uighur, Vietnam and Philippines NOW.

Thanks for coming to our site.

This site is run by me Japanese and members who join in with the intent of the site.

AS most people know,  Japan bears a lot of political and historical problems with China and North-South Korea.  Our country has  tried to deal with them in serious manner as possible. But they don't seem to take a change for better. Why?

We think it is because Japanese people don't talk much in the occasion of   international   discussion. This might  caused   that  Japan has been often misunderstood by the the rest of the world. Come to think of it, such Japanese incommunicative nature is probably because the country has kept a special kind of culture that tends to consider self-promotion deeds or criticism of others as an undignified behavior. It might be a traces of samurai ethics or something.  So I   made this site to try to clear up misconceptions as much as possible.

This is a place to post on the Japanese side of the story about international politics, history, territorial issues, cultures, and other big topics associated with relations between Japan and other countries in dispute. We will post here briefs of articles that world or Japanese media published, or old documents and maps, or readers' contributions.. anything that could support the side of Japan,   You can send me your discours in English (with a picture when possible) from Mail Form at "Contact"   Thank you.
